Training

In recent years hundreds of women have specialised in cultural subjects and industries with the Ministry's grants.

Around 100 training grants in cultural subjects, of the 133 given each year, are obtained by women.

A significant percentage of the more than 100 subsidies awarded each year to young professionals working in culture to complete their education abroad correspond to women.

133 training and specialisation grants for cultural activities and subjects are offered by the Ministry of Culture every year. These grants, directed at individuals with higher education, are aimed at training specialists in different cultural areas and increasing, therefore, the employment possibilities of these graduates in cultural industries.

Most of the demand for these grants by women –approximately eighty per cent of the thousands of applications submitted every year are made by women- corresponds to the same percentage of grants awarded. Consequently, hundreds of women have trained and specialised in recent years in  cultural areas and industries in the different units of the Ministry of Culture.

The Ministry also annually offers subsidies for training culture professionals, which allow young professionals to finish their education in prestigious centres abroad.

Women -musical performers, dancers, actresses, filmmakers, plastic artists, conservationists, restorers, cultural managers- apply for and obtain a large percentage of these subsidies.
