Objective of the registration of intellectual property
The Register is a means of protecting intellectual property rights of authors and other owners over their works, performances or productions.
Registration provides protection of intellectual property rights as it constitutes qualified proof of the existence of the registered rights.
Is registration of Intellectual Property obligatory?
Registration is voluntary. Registration in the Register is not, therefore, obligatory for acquiring intellectual property rights or for obtaining the protection that the law grants to authors and other holders of intellectual property rights.
