The issue of certificates of documents (acknowledgements of copies reproduced in the Archive) is conducted upon written application by the party concerned. Issue is subject to payment of the corresponding fee, which the applicant must deposit in the Treasury using form 790, which is provided by the Archive itself.
The archive, through a Ministerial Order authorising it, collaborates with other institutions by loaning original documents requested for display in exhibitions. The loans are processed by the Promotion Department.
The singularity of the Simancas Archive, the first building constructed as an archive by Juan de Herrera in the 16th century, represents an attractive option for use for social and cultural purposes.
The use of Archive spaces is subject to the permits and fee payment established by the current legislation and requires the signature of an agreement with the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sport.
